Lab test & nutritional info

The product has been tested by the food lab Eurofins in Switzerland and meets all essential requirements of Swiss food legislation. No health-relevant exceedances of limit values were identified. The elevated nickel content only requires consideration for voluntary labeling or export-related certifications.


1. Microbiological Safety
All tested parameters are well below the guideline values for ready-to-eat, dry foods:

  • Total aerobic count: < 1,000 CFU/g (acceptable)
  • Yeasts & molds: < 100 CFU/g (acceptable)
  • Escherichia coli: < 10 CFU/g (acceptable)
  • Salmonella spp.: Not detectable in 25 g (acceptable)

2. Heavy Metals and Contaminants
Comparison with Regulation (EC) No. 1881/2006 (adopted in Switzerland):

  • Arsenic (As): 0.026 mg/kg – Limit: 0.10 mg/kg – Acceptable
  • Lead (Pb): 0.045 mg/kg – Limit: 0.10 mg/kg – Acceptable

Note: The nickel level is above the typical average (1–2 mg/kg). There is no legal exceedance, but this is relevant information for individuals with nickel allergies.

3. Residues and Radioactivity
All measured solvent residues (< 10 mg/kg) and radioactive activities (< 10 Bq/kg) were below the limits of detection. Acceptable.

4. Nutritional Values and Labeling
Information on energy, fat, saturated fatty acids, sugar, salt, fiber, and protein complies with the requirements of Regulation (EU) No. 1169/2011. Acceptable.Nutritionally, it also stands out with a high fibre content (42.2g per 100g), plus 12.0g protein per 100g and 30.1g carbohydrates per 100g with only 0.6g of sugar per 100g (originates from cacao itself, no added sugar).
